West Lancashire Cricket Society 60th Anniversary Year
Our 2025/26 season starts next month, and Sue has again produced an interesting programme. We hope you will support us and take out membership as explained below.
All meetings will be at Southport & Birkdale Sports Club, Trafalgar Road, Southport.
Wednesday 8th October 2025 AGM at 730pm followed at 8pm by Barry Wood, the Lancashire and England batsman and allrounder from the 1970’s.
Wednesday 12th November at 8pm Frank Hayes, the Lancashire and England batsman who captained Lancashire in the late 1970’s.
Wednesday 10th December at 8pm Sue Redfern, currently an umpire in men’s cricket, formerly an international women’s cricketer with England.
Wednesday 14th January at 8pm Mike Watkinson, the Lancashire and England all-rounder who captained and coached the county before becoming Director of Cricket.
Wednesday 11th February at 8pm Graham Lloyd, the Lancashire and England batsman, now a first-class umpire.
Friday 27th March at 7pm for 7:30pm Annual Dinner with Paul Allott, the Lancashire and England seam bowler who was a tv commentator for many years and was the Director of Cricket at Old Trafford.
Notice is given of the AGM as above. Any proposals or nominations should reach me 7 days prior to the meeting
Membership Subscriptions are unchanged at £30 for a single member, £40 for a couple. Details appear on the form you can download via this link.
Last season ended on a high note with the highly successful dinner with Graham Gooch. We plan to maintain this level for our 60th anniversary year but need your continuing support and that of your friends and families.
